Agricultural biostimulants include diverse formulations of compounds, substances and other products that are applied to plants or soils to regulate and enhance the crop’s physiological processes, thus making them more productive.  Biostimulants act on the plant through different pathways to improve crop vigour, yields, quality and post-harvest shelf life/conservation.

The 1st ever global event organized on this topic, the Congress will explore the acquired scientific and technical knowledge on these products, which are increasingly used in crop production around the world.  A panel of prestigious international speakers will discuss the impact of Biostimulants on Plant Nutrition, Abiotic Stresses, Plant Defense Mechanisms, Plant Growth and Development, as well as the various aspects of legislation on these products in the main markets, with a special focus on Europe.

The Congress is organized by the world leading publisher & conference organizer in High Tech Agriculture, New Ag International, and it will take place in the beautiful premises of the Strasbourg Convention Centre.

A high level scientific committee has been appointed:

Chairman of the scientific committee: Pierdomenico Perata, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pisa (Italy).  Co-chairs are Prof Patrick Brown, University of California Davis (USA) and Dr Michel Ponchet, INRA Sophia Antipolis (France).  A call for papers was launched in December 2011 and this website operates as from 16th January 2012.
